Alright, for FOOD. Eat a diet high in carbohydrates, for e.g. cereals, peanut butter sandwich, pasta, orange juice, apples, bananas etc.
If it is a larger meal like lunch or dinner, eat at least 2 to 3 hours before the game. If it is a snack, eat the snack 1 hour before the game.
Avoid fatty, greasy food. Avoid dairy product high in fats too!
Drink lots of water before and during the game to avoid dehydration, but too much isn't good. Drink sports drinks or fruit juice would be good.
If you're having a game or having practices in the late afternoon, make sure you eat your breakfast and lunch that day. Some fruits like bananas would be a good booster before the game!
Next, what to WEAR?
Wear a comfortable shirt and pants! WHY? You'll feel better during the game that's why!

You could wear a finger guard, elbow guard, arm guard, knee guard, and ankle guard to protect all your joints during the game, as incidents might happen.
For shoes, wear shoes that can let your feet to 'breathe', this will allow blood circulation, and thus your feet won't feel uncomfortable.

this post gives me a very big impression because firstly, there are pictures. Not just normal pictures, but interesting ones. They catch my attention straight away, and i will start to read as i will want to know what is the post all about. Basketball. Fantastic post because i myself love basketball too. Not just watching NBA but I enjoy playing basketball with my fellow good friends too! At first, i did not know how food can be so important for a game of basketball. Now, i will start to eat accordingly to this blog spot(assuming it is correct and precise), hopefully it will give me benefits! As for the clothing, i did not know the clothing can also be important. I used to wear random clothes and head off for a game. This post gives me a impression to wear properly so i will not be injured easily. Although i know by playing basketball keeps me healthy, now thanks to this blog post, i got a deeper understanding on how to keep myself even more healthier now. ReplyDeleteI love how you state that carbohydrate is important for athletes. It is important to let the audience know that carbohydrate is important when doing sports ! I also agree with the post that water is essential for the body. However one bad point about this was that you didn't limit the amount for both carbohydrates and water. This is because excessive consumptions of both may have side effects. The suggestions about wearing sport equipments was very good =D Love the blog songs too =D ~ BEN DA YE
